How to Bleach Fabrics

LAUNDRY USE FOR BLEACHABLE FABRICS

For Standard & or High Efficiency (HE) Machines:

  1. Sort
    Sort laundry by colour.
  2. Add
  3. Add
Add 80 ml (1/3 cup) of Clorox® Performance™ Disinfecting Bleach, 80 ml (1/3 cup) of Clorox® Disinfecting Concentrated Bleach, or 120 ml (1/2 cup) of Clorox® Disinfecting Liquid Bleach to wash water for normal or regular loads.

Not for use as a laundry disinfectant or sanitizer.

Test for bleachability

To make sure the item is bleachable, you can do a quick bleachability test. Make a solution of 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of Clorox® Bleach and 1/3 cup of water. Apply a drop of this solution on a hidden area of the fabric. Rinse after 5 minutes and dry. If there is no color loss, you can safely use liquid bleach on the item as described above.

Avoid bleaching wool, silk, mohair, leather, spandex and non-fast colors.
For best results, add the diluted bleach to wash 5 minutes after the wash cycle has begun.
